Contesters and DXers,
The moment we all are waiting for looks really very close to us. After too many years of silence on the higher HF bands, over the past few months, we’ve now been taking our time to work pile-ups and DX on 10 and 15 meters as we used to do back in 2002. The sun is still alive and conditions should getting better and better as the year progresses.
So be ready to organize your station for the coming fall contests so you can get the best ble from your effortd.
The warmer upper is the ARRL RTTY round-up in early January.
It is a favourite contest for many digital operators, but it is also a good opportunity for all to test new things, with new improvements to the station so you’ll be cutting edge for the coming contests in February and March!
As log numbers have been on the increase over the past few years, take the opportunity to practice some new strategies; see how propagation is changing and work as many friends as possbile in a single weekend.
Even “lower profile” contests allow one to log 1000+ QSOs very easily, and now with increased activity on higher bands it can be more easy to achive “significant” results.
Some of this year’s contests carry “double weight” for some of us because the are rated as “qualifying events” for WRTC 2014 in the USA.
This will cause more and more activity for competitive stations and will help create a better mix of signals, along with good sunspot numbers which will help fill up all bands!!
These are special moments nobody should miss out on!!
Stay tuned!
