Venice Carnival Award

The Extreme DX & Contest Group was established in 2010 when some friends, while hanging out on HF, decided to create such a group like this to share their knowledge and stir up some activity on the HF bands. After a few IOTA and IIA activations and contests with delightful results, the Group decided to call for an award to make those participating have a better understanding and appreciation for the famous Venice Carnival .

PERIODS

The Award will start on Tuesday the 25th of January, 2012 and will last until Sunday the 25th of February, 2012.

BANDS & MODES

10-15-20-40 and 80 meters will be used as qualifying bands, while valid modes will be SSB, CW and RTTY.

VALID STATION

A special callsign will be aired: II3CV. It will be worth five points. The score needed to obtain the award will be 15. The special station may be contacted for up to three QSOs per band, one for each mode.

QSL, AWARD and FINAL PRIZE

All QSOs with stations will be confirmed using QSL cards through the Bureau, directly or through LoTW.

The Award will be awarded to all stations requesting it and having been duly qualified per the rules of the award. The fee to obtain the award will be of €5 or $ 10 via Paypal.

The award must be requested per the attention of the Award Manager, Mario Gava, IK3HHX through the mail or via e-mail (mariohhx@tiscali.it) with log attached. The subject line of the e-mail must contain your callsign followed by “Venice Carnival 2012.” (i.e.: IZ3NVR Venice Carnival 2012).
