Pat, VK2PN and Miro, OK1NG will be on the air from Lord Howe Island from May 23rd through the 30th, 2012. Chris, VK3FY, as part of his work, will be going to the island from May 27 to June 2, 2012.
All three are likely to participate as VK9PN during the CQWW WPX CW Contest. The callsign VK9LHI will be used once Pat and Miro have left the island.
They will operate using a K3, with the hope that a new KX3 will arrive in time to serve as an extra or spare radio if needed. They’ll also have access to an SPE 1K-FA linear amplifier.
The small team of operators will work mainly on CW but plan on spending some time on SSB and RTTY as well. They’ll have antennas in the air for 160 through 10 meters.
