Bob Johnson ( W9XY) and XYL Monica ( KC9FNH ) will begin holiday style operation from Cable Beach, Nassau, New Providence Island (IOTA NA-001) on November 4, 2012 as C6AXY.They will be active on 40 thru 10 meters, mainly on CW and SSB until November 9, 2012 using a Yaesu FT857D and TBD antenna.
As can be seen from RSGB-IOTA directory NA-001 has been claimed by the 67% of IOTA Chasers.
Do give careful consideration to the QSL policy on qrz.com:
“*** QSL POLICY, PLEASE READ: Direct or bureau only please. The courtesy of an SASE or return postage is required for all direct cards. I don’t need or collect USA cards, so USA cards without SASE/postage might or might not be returned via bureau.(Keep in mind the ARRL Bureau is not designed for stateside cards.) USA cards with an SASE will be answered immediately. DX cards received without postage WILL be returned via bureau 100%. Even then, be aware that it may take up to a year before I send outgoing cards.
If you want a card direct, please cover your own return postage – you’ll get a quality card in return. If I want/need a card, as a courtesy I pay for my return postage and expect others to do the same. Sorry to be so direct about this subject, but I’ve found that if it is not in writing it is loosely followed.”
This should be clear enough…C6AXY is a good chance to have a smooth QSO with a very experienced operator and confirm it with a bureau card.
