How we would all just love to travel to the Seychelles for our place in the sun. For many of us, that opportunity may not immediately afford itself. However, for most of us, just working the Seychelles would be reward enough, certainly a “tough one” on many of our DX lists.
Luca, I5IHE; Simon; IK5RUN and Dan, I5OYY will be active holiday style from Praslin Island (AF-024) as S79LC, S79UN and S79YY between October 21 and November 4, 2012. Activity will be on 40 through 10 meters on RTTY, SSB and CW. Stations will have access to K2 and K3 transceivers, Ameritron power amplifier and multiband vertical radiator. Operation on 30 and 40 meters will be made possible by use of a simple wire antenna.
This operation is also registered with World Lighthouses on the Air. The station will be set up from Lighthouse 2862 where day to day operation will occur. There are actually two lighthouses located on Praslin Island. On-line logs may be accessed from the team’s website.
