It was already known that the next DXpeditions to Clipperton and Heard Islands would include scientists and reseachers among the teams.
Given this background, the TX5K team has taken a step forward, by launching a project to get students involved with the scientific part of these expeditions. Rich Holoch, KY6R, who takes care of “social media” as an offsite member of TX5K, has published this in his blog ky6r.wordpress.com:
“The Clipperton and Heard Island DXpeditions are more than just radio DXpeditions. They also include scientific and educational projects – which will expand the reasons, acceptance and participation beyond just amateur radio. We feel this is essential to future expeditions to many entities that either already have – or will become places that cannot be accessed.

If you know of a school in your area which might want to participate, please send teachers or school administrators in your area to this link.
If you are so inclined to make a donation – it will be very much appreciated.”
