Hello;
This is HL1FB, KARL International Relations. I am sending you this email because you inquired about or applied for a ham permit for foreigners in Korea during the last a few years.
There was a significant improvement in permit issuing system recently in Korea.
-Permit period was only one year but now it is five years regardless of visa period starting 11/28/2011.
-You can choose to use (HL/home callsign) or (Korean callsign) starting 11/28/2011.
-Application fee was reduced 50% starting 11/1/2011.
When you renew your permit you can change to Korean callsign if you want to and you will get a five year
permit regradless of your visa period.
Even if your permit was expired long time ago, we can renew it with a Korean callsign valid for five years.
For detail please look at www.karl.or.kr-> English page.
If you have any question please send me email or call me 017-xxx-xxx (privacy removed) anytime.
Attached is an information that may be useful for hams in Korea.
