QSL de Family Radio
After the Camping turmoil, many people wondered how did Family Radio react, also in terms of staff remained to the station. I don’t know who’s in charge of QSLing at the station, but the handwriting on their cards is the same of the era before “the end of the world”. I sent, to the usual e-mail address, a report for the Turkish programme (on 9430 kHz at 17.08 UTC) and for the Urdu broadcast (on 7505 at 16.55 UTC). Former is mentioned, on various schedules (including www.short-wave.info), from Skelton (UK), and latter from Almaty-Nikolajevka (Kazakhstan). What came in the envelope I got is pretty curious. The 9430 kHz card (the front is the standard WYFR one) mentions the tx site to be Wooferton. As for the other reception, my report came printed in the envelope and the mention of 7505 was underlined, with a “We have it @7590 kHz” writing along. The QSL gives this frequency, and “Erevan” as site (which is in Armenia). Now, EiBi lists 7590 kHz (with no language indication, with Europe as target, from KAZ), but starting at 18.00 UTC. Aoki, instead, doesn’t list anything on the frequency given by WYFR on my card. Both, however, have Urdu on 7505 from 16 to 17 UTC. In a word, I don’t know what I got confirmed, it could be something for specialists to go deeper. However, I’m grateful to the station for being still available towards listeners, even if they experienced not so pleasant times.
