QSL de Radio Vaticana
Radio Vaticana confirmed my reception report (which was submitted via e-mail) in less than two weeks. The two cards I received (concerning receptions on 3975 and 4050 kHz, in December and June 2011) were kindly anticipated by a message from the Frequencies Department, and are duly completed, including transmitting site and characteristics. So, I learnt that 3975 originates from the log periodic aerial in Santa Maria di Galeria (with 100 kW power), and 4050 are the result of a north-south dipole in Vatican City, fed with 5 kW. A friendly, and technically significant confirmation (and the front pictures of the cards, that you can see here and here are classy, in pure Radio Vaticana style). One that, nowadays, you would put under a frame, to remember, in twenty-thirty years, what was our hobby about and what broadcasting on low frequencies meant. In the mail anticipating the cards, the Frequencies Department expressed interest in more reports, to check their signals in my area. Count on that, and thanks a lot!
