Crossing the Adriatic (with 5 W)

28 Jan 2012 / 0 Comments / in QSLs/by IX1CKN

In this post, written once back home from last summer holidays, I told about how troposheric reception enhancement allowed good signals, on the beach of Cattolica (loc. JN63IX) and with a simple HT, from the 9A0VRI 2m repeater, located in Ucka, Croatia (loc. JN75CG). One morning, I noticed that tropo was so strong, that not only receiving the repeater, but also transiting through it Read more →

QSL de Radio Japan

28 Jan 2012 / 0 Comments / in QSLs/by IX1CKN

Confirmations from NHK/Radio Japan were already in my list. However, they related to relays in Singapore and Chile. Nothing from the stations’ land. Luckily enough, the 6085 kHz evening broadcast in Japanese (from Yamata) is not an impossible catch from Europe. I had it last December, at 21.13 UTC, in a week when also Nikkei (internal shortwave service) was well heard in our continent Read more →

QSL de Radio Netherlands Worldwide

28 Jan 2012 / 0 Comments / in QSLs/by IX1CKN

For different reasons (pertaining mainly to the fact a previous report to Radio Madagasikara went unanswered), Magadascar was still out of my BC confirmations list. I had the chance to change this state of things during last December, thanks to the 9365 kHz Indonesian broadcast of Radio Netherlands Worldwide, coming from Talata-Volondry at 21.26 UTC. The report Read more →

QSL de Family Radio

28 Jan 2012 / 0 Comments / in QSLs/by IX1CKN

After the Camping turmoil, many people wondered how did Family Radio react, also in terms of staff remained to the station. I don’t know who’s in charge of QSLing at the station, but the handwriting on their cards is the same of the era before “the end of the world”. I sent, to the usual e-mail address, a report for the Turkish programme (on 9430 kHz at 17.08 UTC) and for the Urdu Read more →

QSL de VOR (Novosibirsk and Irkutsk)

28 Jan 2012 / 0 Comments / in QSLs/by IX1CKN

Voice of Russia’s “50 years to the first manned flight into space” QSL serie is really impressive and evocative. So, I was glad to get another of these cards, confirming two far east relays for this station. Novosibirsk (which I got on 21805 kHz), and Irkutsk (on 17805 kHz), were received during last december, both in English language. Report went to the station through e-mail Read more →

QSL de Adventist World Radio

28 Jan 2012 / 0 Comments / in QSLs/by IX1CKN

Don’t ask me why exactely, but I hadn’t so far confirmed AWR. So, looking – as always- to fill the gap, I received them on three different frequencies: two (15240 and 15480 kHz) originating from Meyerton (in South Africa), and the other (11645 kHz) from Moosebrunn (Austria). This broadcaster, having to cover mostly Africa and Middle-East, has not that many relays. However, Read more →
